Boarding

Upon Your Arrival

Upon your arrival, we ask that you keep your dog on their leash.  Since car rides can be exciting for most pups, we ask that you take your dog to the designated poop station to relieve themselves.  Curb side service is provided.  Please go to the reception check in/check out window where you and your dog will be greeted by a Tail Country staff member.   We will review your dog’s stay, note any special instructions and/or care, confirm your contact & emergency information, and discuss any additional instructions for your pup.  A staff member will then walk your dog into the resort to get them settled into their boarding quarters.

Food & Treats

We ask that you bring your dog’s own food from home.  This makes your dog’s stay less stressful and eliminates any digestive issues due to a change in their diet.  Place your dog’s food in individually marked plastic bags, so we know the exact amount of food to provide at each meal.  Mark on each plastic bag your dog’s name so there is no confusion.  Make sure you include your pup’s favorite treats.  Food & treats will be placed in your dog’s personal storage bin in our food preparation area.  We can accommodate food or treats that need to be refrigerated.

Maid Service

Maid Service is provided daily to maintain a clean and odor free environment.  Our state of the art central cleaning system, Clean Wise®, is installed at sixteen locations throughout the facility.

Medications

There is a small fee for dispensing medication.  Written veterinary instructions for administration and reason for medication is required.  Medications need to be prepackaged, preferably in a daily pill box organizer with your dog’s identification.  By you preparing your dog’s medications, there should not be confusion for what day/time and amount to be administer.

Holiday Stay and Peak Season

We are closed to the public and observe the following holidays; Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (Open 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for check in/out guests only), Christmas, and New Year’s Day.  It is encouraged that you book your reservations early and confirm our peak season and holiday pricing.

The peak summer season starts mid-May and goes till early September.  In order to help maximize our availability to our clients, we require a deposit per family for all reservations that fall within the summer peak season.  We highly recommend you book your dog’s summer vacation early.

During our peak seasons there is an additional $2 fee/dog when boarding on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Activities

At Tail Country Pet Resort, we offer a’ la carte activities for your dog to have the best “pawcation” ever.  A nature walk, one-on-one playtime, and extra treats are just a few of the activities for your dog.  Our reservations specialist will be glad to review the selections we offer and arrange a paw selected daily activity and/or treat for your pup.

Vaccinations Required

Your dog needs to be current on the following vaccinations; Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Canine Influenza (recommended), and Bordetella vaccination.  If the Bordetella vaccine (vaccine for canine cough) has never been given, or if it has expired, we require a two (2) week waiting period after the administration, as this may provide your dog with extra protection.  We also require all dogs be on a flea and tick preventative.  Your dog should also have a negative fecal exam within the last twelve (12) months.

Veterinary Care

In the unlikely event that your dog needs medical attention; we will make every effort to contact you.  If you cannot be reached, we will contact your emergency contact, your veterinarian and provide transportation.  If your veterinarian is not available, your dog will receive medical care from the licensed veterinary services available to TCPR

We are always available and provide care for dogs with special needs during their stay at Tail Country.  When making your reservations, please explain what those needs are so we can provide the best care for your pup.

An isolation room is provided for any dog that may become ill during their stay.  The isolation room will allow your dog to be closely watched and cared for by our staff until seen by a veterinarian.  Make sure your emergency contact is available during your dog’s boarding stay.  If your dog is unable to return to the resort, it is your responsibility to arrange for your emergency contact or other designated person to care for your dog until you return home.

Capturing Pawsome Moments

Be sure to check out our Facebook Page for Puparazzi photos of our guests having fun in the indoor and outdoor play areas.  We update our page several times a week, so you may see your best friend appear on Facebook with some of their “furiends”!
